AI?

Has anything important changed? Not here, anyway, because we’re talking humans. And, like leaving your gun in the truck, or finding your phone doesn’t work, sometimes we have to rely on our own personal internal resources.

To quote Barry Watts (1996):

“…if both sides have access to the
novelty or innovation, … then transforming the
resulting [situation awareness] and targeting data into knowledge and action better or
quicker than the opponents will still ultimately be taking place in
the same sort of “gray matter” that members of our species have
been carrying around in their skulls for the last 45,000-90,000
years. Both sides will have improved compared to where they were
without [the innovation], but the relative margin of advantage will fall back
to differences between the men in the machines.”

So, whether it’s “pointed sticks”, F-35s, or ChatGPT, some person told it what to do.
